I'm giving my lack of sophistication away here, but this book dragged for me. Makes me wonder if anyone said anything coherent back then, or if they spent five minutes on sentences that could be completed in a few words. Blah, blah, blah. And blah. By the time we got to the "scary" part, I didn't care anymore.
