Tedious. I didn't enjoy the bulk of it but there were parts that made you want to keep reading.

Although I figured out most of the plot, Liane kept me riveted throughout. Whips right along.

Talk about anarchy! Golly jeepers! We may pine away for the ‘good old days”, but I’m darn glad I didn’t live back then and especially in that place! Frontier San Francisco was a hotbed of all kinds of immoral, violent activity, and the “law’ wasn’t any better. For those interested in “ho”story, crime, and the history of crime, read on! Informative. You come away with a more complete knowledge of the man behind Snoopy. Some good, some not so much. I guess that's what's endearing (and enduring) about the strip--the ultimate message is that we all have our flaws.

This would be a great airplane book--quick, easy, and suspenseful. I think it would also make a great movie. There were some holes in the story that made things awkward and unbelievable for me, but this is one of those (rare) times when I think that the story line is actually more suited to the screen than the page.

There were some interesting parts, but altogether a bit underwhelming.

As a huge fan of the Anne of Green Gables books, I was really eager to read this book, especially after learning that Emily was L.M. Montgomery's favorite character. It was sweet. Sorry, Lucy, but I'm still AOGG all the way.
